



In observance of the International Day Against Drug Trafficking, the Sports Committee of Dr. Moopen’s Medical College, in association with Aster Volunteers, Dr. Moopen’s Medical College, Dr. Moopen’s Nursing College, Dr. Moopen’s College of Pharmacy, and the NSS Unit, successfully organized the “Toofan 1 Million Goals” Challenge on 29 June 2026 at the Hospital Front of the college campus.
The program was conducted as part of the statewide “Toofan 1 Million Goals” initiative, which aims to encourage students and staff to collectively score one million football goals while spreading awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
The program was inaugurated by Dr. Elisabeth Joseph, Principal, Dr. Moopen’s Medical College, in the presence of Prof. Lida Antony, Principal, Dr. Moopen’s Nursing College; Prof. Ramadevi, Vice Principal, Dr. Moopen’s Nursing College; Mrs. Sangeetha Susan, Head – HR; Prof. Fasal Rahman, Dr. Moopen’s College of Pharmacy; Mr. Soopy Kallingodan, Chief – General Administration; Dr. Shanavas Palliyal, DGM – Operations; and Dr. Abin, President, DMMC Sports Committee.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and staff across the institution. A special Penalty Shoot Competition for Women Staff and Students was organized, providing an engaging platform for participation and sportsmanship. Exciting prizes were awarded to the winners, adding to the spirit of the event.
Through this initiative, participants demonstrated their commitment to promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and social responsibility while supporting the campaign against drug abuse.
The program successfully conveyed the message that sports can serve as a powerful tool in steering young people away from substance abuse and towards positive and healthy life choices. The event concluded with a renewed commitment from participants to support anti-drug awareness initiatives and contribute towards building a drug-free society.
