Aster Volunteers Mobile Medical Service During Kalladi Landslide

Immediate Emergency Response by Aster Volunteers Mobile Medical Service During Kalladi Landslide.

A major landslide struck the Kalladi area of Wayanad on 7 July 2026 near the tunnel road project site at Meenakshi Bridge, resulting in significant loss of life and leaving several people injured and missing. Rescue operations are continuing with the support of NDRF personnel, Fire and Rescue Services, Police, and local residents.

Demonstrating its commitment to serving communities during emergencies, the Aster Volunteers Mobile Medical Service (AVMMS) of Dr. Moopen’s Medical College rushed to the disaster site within minutes of receiving information about the incident.

The AVMMS team immediately established emergency medical support at the site and provided first aid and medical assistance to landslide survivors as well as rescue workers involved in the challenging operation. The team remained on ground to offer continuous medical support as rescue efforts progressed.

As of now, reports indicate that five people have lost their lives, while five others remain missing. Search and rescue operations are continuing under the leadership of the concerned authorities
