






RED RUN 2026 – RUN FOR AWARENESS, RUN FOR AN HIV-FREE FUTURE!
On the occasion of International Youth Day, a District-Level Red Run Marathon was organized on 14 August 2026 to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS prevention, early diagnosis and treatment, and the importance of eliminating stigma and discrimination.
The programme was organized under Yuvajagaran – Kerala State AIDS Control Society (KSACS) and NSS, in coordination with the Department of Health Services (DHS), Wayanad, in association with Aster Volunteers, Dr. Moopen’s Medical College and Dr. Moopen’s Nursing College.
Route: Civil Station, Kalpetta → WMO College, Muttil
Students from various colleges across Wayanad enthusiastically participated, joining together to promote a healthier, more inclusive and stigma-free society.
The marathon was flagged off by ADM Mr. K. Ajish at Civil Station, Kalpetta, in the presence of Dr. Priya Senan, District TB & HIV Officer; Ms. Vineetha K., District NSS–Yuvajagaran Coordinator, Wayanad and Assistant Professor, Dr. Moopen’s Nursing College; Nodal Officers Ms. Sminimol and Mr. Ranjith; District Media Officer Mr. Mustafa; Aster Volunteer Coordinator Mr. Muhammed Basheer; and Mr. Prameesh.
Our AVMMS team, led by Mr. Libin, provided medical support for the programme as one of the official medical partners.
The prize distribution ceremony was held at WMO College, Muttil, and was led by District Deputy Excise Commissioner Mr. K. Satheesh Kumar, in the presence of government officials, organizers, nodal officers and participants.
Through Red Run 2026, we raised our voices for:
• Eliminating new HIV infections by 2030
• Promoting early diagnosis and treatment
• Ending stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV
• Strengthening social support for affected individuals
Together, we ran not just for a cause, but for a future where awareness replaces ignorance, compassion replaces stigma, and equality becomes a reality.
