On December 3rd, on the International Day of Persons with Disability, we stand united in action towards achieving a more inclusive world. This year’s theme, ‘United in action to rescue and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals for, with, and by persons with disabilities,’ emphasizes the importance of collaboration for a fairer society.
At Dr. Moopen’s Medical College, Aster Volunteers, in association with the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Dept., marked this significant day with Sangamam 2023 – an annual gathering that brought together our previously rehabilitated patients. This event included health check-ups, cultural activities, games, and most importantly, a platform for sharing experiences and inspiring individuals with disabilities to lead fulfilling lives.
Under the leadership of Dr. Babeesh Chacko, alongside esteemed figures such as Dr. Manoj Narayanan, Dr. Aneesh Basheer, Dr. Shanavas Palliyal, Mr. Soopy Kallingodan, Mr. Usman, and Ms. Sangeetha Susan, we celebrated resilience, strength, and the unwavering spirit of those with disabilities. Let’s continue to work together, fostering a world where everyone has equal opportunities and where differences are celebrated.
