Overview
Microbiology deals with the study of microscopic organisms, such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoa and archaea, as well as the host response to these agents. Knowledge of microbiology is crucial to the understanding of infectious agents and their effects on the human body.
The department strives to provide a robust introduction to the subject by using various innovative approaches. It is also involved in research at various levels, including external projects.
Vision
To provide leading edge education, innovative research & expertise in diagnostic Microbiology to create an Indian Medical Graduate with accurate knowledge in Microbiology and also provide timely diagnostic facility to the community working in harmony with nature.
